Sustainability at Brustor

Every day, Brustor is committed to doing business in a sustainable and inclusive way. High-quality products, sustainable materials and waste reduction are core values in Brustor’s sustainability DNA, along with many other sustainability initiatives. We focus on a brighter future, together.

Quality you’ll enjoy for years

At Brustor, we consistently choose sustainable materials that can take a beating in order to produce a level of quality that can literally weather the storm. Take the aluminium in our pergolas and carports, for example, or the sturdy wood for our sliding walls that take on a gorgeous, natural patina over time.

Thanks to our in-house powder-coating, sawmill, textile workshop and assembly departments, we maintain complete control over the production process. We’ve got everything under one roof, with attention to every detail. Before a product leaves our premises, it undergoes a thorough quality control procedure. This guarantees reliable and elegant solutions that you will enjoy for many years to come.

Making smart use of shade and sun

Shade is the most effective way to cool your home, and with the right solar shading, you can save on an energy-guzzling aircon. After all, the most affordable energy is the energy you don’t consume. We have also incorporated this principle in our range of solar screens: these solar-shading ZIP screens keep the heat out and run on solar energy; no electrical connection required!

Keeping waste to a minimum

Thanks to our made-to-order process, we only produce what is necessary, minimising waste streams. We consistently choose sustainable materials that can take a beating, so you can relax and rely on your Brustor.

Conscious design choices

Another way we commit to sustainability is by making smart design choices. We design with dismantling in mind, placing a priority on  materials that are easy to separate so they can be recycled. Where possible, we use recyclable raw materials and incorporate components with low energy consumption. Over 30% of our aluminium is recycled, for example. The powder and textile waste we generate gets a new lease of life in the automobile industry. Thanks to our made-to-order process, we only produce what is necessary, minimising waste streams.

Sustainable production

We also aim to take the greenest possible approach to our own operations. Because we handle a great deal in-house, we can keep the lines short. The proximity of our customers and suppliers allows us to keep the number of transport kilometres to a minimum. We optimise our water consumption, use smart LED lighting, and charge our lifting equipment with solar-powered battery technology. The roof of our production facility is even covered with solar panels.
