Choose the perfect color and fabric for your sun protection

Sun protection not only determines how much shade you create, but also how your home and terrace feel. The right combination of color, coating finish, and fabric creates visual calm, architectural harmony, and optimal comfort — indoors and outdoors.

From warm, perfectly matched colors to stylish fabrics with maximum heat protection: at Brustor, you can fully customize your sun protection to match your home, taste, and lifestyle.

Choose a shade that complements your façade

The right color enhances your home’s architecture

Whether you choose timeless white, warm anthracite tones, or a bold dark look: the color of your sun protection has a major impact on the overall appearance of your home.

With more than 200 RAL colors, you can perfectly match your sun protection to your windows, façade, and outdoor space. The result is a harmonious whole that radiates calm and character.

The aluminum profiles are finished with a high-quality powder coating according to the Qualicoat label. This guarantees durable protection and a refined finish.

You can choose from different finishes:

  • Matte

  • Satin gloss

  • Fine texture coating (most popular)

Fine texture coating is especially popular thanks to its subtle grain texture, which not only looks modern but is also extra scratch-resistant and easy to maintain.

Most popular colors

  • RAL 7016 ST – anthracite gray (fine texture)

  • RAL 7039 ST – quartz gray (fine texture)

  • RAL 9005 ST – jet black (fine texture)

  • RAL 9016 ST – traffic white (accent or louvers)

These colors are often chosen for their timeless architectural appearance and combine perfectly with contemporary building styles.

Quality you can see and feel

Coating that stays beautiful for years

Brustor’s coating process is carried out entirely in-house and guarantees a durable, premium-quality finish.

Thanks to the electrostatic powder coating process, the coating adheres perfectly to the aluminum and is cured in an oven. This ensures:

  • Long-lasting color retention

  • Strong protection against scratches and impacts

  • Resistance to UV radiation and weather conditions

  • A smooth and flawless finish

This way, your sun protection remains just as beautiful as on the day it was installed.

Trend colors in modern architecture

In contemporary homes, we mainly see:

  • Deep matte black shades

  • Textured coatings

  • Warm anthracite colors

  • Subtle metallic accents

  • Wood-look finishes (for example for louvers or wall panels)

These colors combine perfectly with materials such as wood, concrete, stucco, and steel, reinforcing the modern character of your home.

More than just sun protection

The right fabric determines light, atmosphere and privacy

The fabric of your sun protection not only determines how much sunlight is blocked, but also how your indoor and outdoor spaces feel.

At Brustor, you can choose from premium fabrics by leading brands such as Dickson, Sattler, Swela, Serge Ferrari, and Mermet. This guarantees quality, durability, and color fastness.

Types of fabrics

Acrylic fabrics (for awnings)

  • Filter a large portion of UV radiation

  • Colorfast thanks to solution-dyed fibers

  • Weather-resistant

  • Available in more than 170 colors and patterns

  • Natural, warm textile appearance

👉 Tip: when it rains, it is best to retract the fabric to keep it in optimal condition.

Screen and zip fabrics

Screen and ZIP fabrics are commonly used for vertical solar shading and combine light transmission with protection against sun and heat.

  • Reduce heat and glare

  • Maintain outward visibility (depending on the fabric)

  • Provide daytime privacy

You may encounter technical terms such as openness factor. In simple terms, this means:

👉 the lower the percentage, the less you can see through the fabric and the better it blocks sunlight

  • 1–3% → maximum shading and privacy

  • 5–10% → more visibility and more daylight

Blackout fabrics (0%) are also available, providing complete darkness — ideal for bedrooms.

Which fabric color should you choose?

The color of your fabric directly affects light, comfort, and privacy.

Dark fabrics:

  • Reduce glare

  • Block more heat

  • Offer better daytime privacy

  • Ideal for south-facing homes or busy areas

  • Provide better visibility outward

Light fabrics:

  • Let in more natural light

  • Create an open, airy atmosphere

  • Provide softer indoor light

👉 Keep in mind that lighter fabrics are more prone to dirt, and at night, visibility from outside is possible regardless of color.

Additional options

Our fabrics offer many design possibilities:

  • Solid colors

  • Stripes or patterns

  • Decorative prints

For hospitality or retail businesses, custom printing is available, such as adding a logo or name to the fabric.
